Umpire Mechanics : How to Move
Umpires cannot be in every place, every time at the perfect time. Depending on the number of umpires, there are specific time tested movements to put themselves in a perfect position to see and make a call. Position can be either angle, distance or both … with the opportunity to adjust based on a baseball play happening!
This section will cover specific situations that will help umpires, coaches, players and parents understand the difficulty of getting in a place to be able to see and hear a play to make the right call.
